“We’re both at our wit’s end…”
“WHY? What did my son do to deserve this? I’m just so DONE! Dr. Gresh said try one month of supplements. One month. So we did, and we’re out $350 and nothing has changed. A month of nasty-tasting supplement drinks and pills and the only difference in Jacob is a perpetual stomachache.
I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised. But what do I tell Jake now?
Fought with Micheal again too. We’re both at our wits’ end. I’m glad that Joshua doesn’t have learning problems too. But I can tell it bothers him to see Jake so upset. I guess we’re all in this together.
I’m starting to get that anxiety that comes with knowing another semester is coming up. I am supposed to meet with Sandra next week to talk about Jacob’s IEP. She’s usually pretty optimistic, and at the beginning of this year she had an arsenal of new things to try with him. I can already tell, just from our phone conversation yesterday that she’s discouraged because they aren’t working as well as she hoped. I’m discouraged too.
Jacob is still seeing the Speech Therapist each week. Allergy injections? We stopped that. Didn’t seem to be helping anymore.”
