“I kept seeing a lot about brain training video games online…”
Mike and I had an appointment this morning with John at LearningRx. It was very encouraging. I was a little hesitant because while we were searching around the internet for stuff about LearningRx, I kept seeing a lot about brain training video games online, and that got me down because I know that Jake needs something more intensive than that. But once we talked to John, he explained that the kind of brain training LearningRx does is different – it is intense, one-on-one sessions. Actually a lot like having a personal trainer at the gym!
It wasn’t a long meeting. He gave us some literature to take home and think about. So this evening we became experts on brain-based learning, and cognitive skills. It was kind of fun. I’d like to try brain training myself some time. Oh, and we scheduled a time to bring Jacob in to have his cognitive skills tested.
I’m just glad this has nothing to do with shots or huge pills!
