Is it possible to increase brain power, quantitatively speaking? Can your brain actually get bigger? Well… yes! It won’t grow in a way you can observe, but the brain training we do at LearningRx actually causes the number of connections in your white matter to increase. And with that, the power of your amazing brain also increases.
Let’s draw a parallel to general physical health: A qualitative increase (quality of life) can be achieved by eating right, sleeping enough, drinking enough water, and reducing stress. But your body will not get stronger by doing those things. You may feel better, and have more energy, but your capacity to lift heavy things or run long distances will not have increased at all. But if, in addition to eating right and drinking water and all the rest, you go to the gym and target specific weak muscles, you will begin to see your ability to run and lift increase. That is a quantitative increase – your body doesn’t just feel better, its ability to perform tasks has actually increased.
